Following-on from January's 'Flora', Beaty Heart are back with a second taste of their forthcoming album Till The Tomb, which is available to pre-order now and set for its Caroline International/NUA Entertainment release on 29 July. Where its predecessor showed-off the trio's slightly darker side, 'Soft Like Clay' is a return to the playful colour we have come to expect from the South Londoners: dancing rhythms wiggle along alongside the staccato vocal melody and further fun from bending bass moments and smile-inducing saxophone lines. “We wrote 'Soft Like Clay' in an asbestos haze on a building site in Peckham," explain the band, and the result is a suitably trippy and infectious outing that will no doubt provide a highlight at their forthcoming live shows, which include a stop at London's Electrowerkz on 13 April. -G.O'B
